With JWT, whoami reads user identity, the current account and reachable projects. solwyn.whoami.v1 preserves email_verified, first name and marketing-email subscription state, account ID, role, seats and projects. Check this before a role-restricted operation.

With a project key, it returns local credential source and configured project context without HTTP. It does not prove key validity or invent a user, account role or verified email, and never reveals raw key material. Use doctor for an authenticated read. MCP provides get_whoami in both profiles.

Exit codes: 0 success, 1 API/invalid response, 2 usage, 3 auth. An environment key wins over a stored key, which wins over a stored JWT. See Authentication.

If membership was revoked, use account recover; repeated login does not restore membership. Email verification and changes use the dashboard.
